Class 2

CLASS 2 LICENSE

Allows you to drive a vehicle up to 18,000kgs or a vehicle with two axles.

Do the NZTA approved course at Main Road Training and cut out the learner licence period. Our price includes theory training, and a driver training practical assessment.

In our approved truck and heavy vehicle licence course we will include a logbook unit standard (unless you can prove you have sat it with an NZTA approved provider within the last twelve months and we are happy with your current standard), and the Class 2 unit standard which consists of both theory and practical.

Once you have completed the approved course you will be given a certificate. You must take this to an NZTA licensing agent (VTNZ or AA) and have it put on your licence. The certificate is not a licence.

Forklift

FORKLIFT LICENSE

Allows you to operate a forklift.

Main Road Training offers a full range of forklift training courses.

Anyone who operates a forklift must be trained, and many operators don’t even know the basics. (E.g. how much can your forklift pick up?)

There are two types of forklift training required: The F licence endorsement and the OSH (Operators Safety & Health) certificate. Main Road Training offers both qualifications, and we can even provide training onsite at your place of business.

Main Road Training forklift licences are NZTA approved and forklift training can be completed in one working day.

A Class 4 learner licence (4L) must be obtained before the course commences. You may need to provide a driver's medical for this. A driver's medical expires 60 days from date of issue and is valid for 5 years once lodged with NZTA. If you have lodged a driver's medical within the last 5 years this is not required.

Dangerous Goods

DANGEROUS GOODS (D) ENDORSEMENT

Allows you to transport dangerous or hazardous goods.

If you're transporting dangerous or hazardous goods, you need a dangerous goods (D) endorsement on your driver licence. Dangerous goods include substances and articles that have explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious or corrosive properties. They also include containers that have held dangerous goods.

Class 5

Allows you to drive a vehicle combination from 25,000kgs or over.

Machinery

WHEELS TRACK AND ROLLERS

Allows you to drive a special-type vehicle that isn’t a forklift on the road.

To do any combination of Wheels, Tracks or Rollers together will take approximately four hours. If you drive a special-type vehicle that isn’t a forklift on the road, you must have an R, T or W endorsement on your driver licence.
